It wasn't dangerous at all...as long as I didn't suddenly, unexpectedly dart out in front of someone who was shooting in order to get a "better" angle.
I am comfortable around guns and shooting. People who shoot are very safety conscious and take pains to make sure everyone around them are too. Well, at least responsible people are and those are the only types I would be around or that would be allowed at a shooting range.

Generally, you couldn't see the bullets, but in one particular case we were watching as people were shooting lever action rifles with old-style loads that don't propel the bullet as fast as modern loads. You had to watch very carefully, but in the right light in that location at that time of day you could actually see it speed to the target. Pretty cool.
