Two great scenes Birma, I just love those kinds of places, they happen only in or around the edge of the rainforest here mostly. You can take a small collapsible camping chair and sit and watch, listen and wait, and the birds gradually come to you, some quite close occasionally…just to check you out (what’s this funny human doing just sitting there?)

Ps the greenies have been quite vocal about farm runoff affecting the GBR, it causes algal blooms sometimes…apparently, farm runoff could also kill frogs…maybe, but at least one frog that has disappeared lived only high in the mountain rainforest so no farm runoff in that location, now it’s claimed that maybe the changing atmospheric composition is altering the wavelengths that come through from the sun and is sterilizing the eggs…work in progress.

Thank you Greg - they certainly are great places to just soak it all in.

We have some serious declines in some species of birds and invertebrates here, most worrying are the bees. We have had some harsh winters but I think the concern is that the declines are not just the natural ebb and flow of populations, but because of man-made impact. I think it was Einstein who said that the human race would not survive 4 years without bees.

Here are a couple more opportunities to sit and soak in the atmosphere - while we still have it !

This is from the Worcester by-pass; a scene I have driven past many, many times but I set out last week to get a proper shot of it. The light didn't quite come right and so I will have to go back again another time. I couldn't work out what the crop was, perhaps beans.

Another shot in the afternoon sunshine.

The hedge here has grown out of control with the individual plants sac growing in to small trees. The hawthorn looks nice with the blossom, and a wide field margin has been left around the wheat field.

I like the hedge that’s gone rank Birma I like things that are growing almost out of control, the blossom strings sort of look like snow fell on the branches, very nice, lots of Buttercups there as well, I like your rural captures.
