Re: Emma @ 1600
Never mind the Nikon, John. Your daughter is very sweet. Nice shot.
Re: Emma @ 1600
1. Sorry to John for taking the topic off in to "new gear". They are indeed beautiful pictures.
2. Welcome back to the Doc
. Nice to see you around the forum again.
3.
I'm going off topic again, but still around high ISO, as the new Canon Mark IV also has ISO 102,400. Can anyone explain (in simple terms) why this has suddently become the new "standard"?
2. Welcome back to the Doc
3.
Nex 5, Nex 6 (IR), A7M2, A99 and a bunch of lenses.

Higher ISO equivalents is one of the big cheats that digital mediums have over film. If you want to stop down for sharpness and still shoot at 1/1000th of a second for that bird in flight, charging linebacker, or C-130 in the setting sun, what else are you going to do? Miss the shot?

Re: Emma @ 1600
Thanks to all. Dr Harout, good to hear from you again. I haven't seen any ISO 102,400 shots, but how good can they be? It seems like just another big number to kick around for marketing. Now using your best movie trailer announcer voice repeat after me.. "Imagine a world of almost complete darkness... A subject dimly lit by the light of a firefly...You HAVE to get the shot.. Now with your all new a1000D3MKV700s with ISO 102,400 you can.....(dramatic music) The new Sonikanon A1000D3mkv700s.. Nobody has higher ISO sensivity! (cue happy music with woman looking at baby picture smiling)" David Kilpatrick review to follow soon!
If the last thing you remember hearing is somebody yelling 'CLEAR!!!', assume you've had a problem!!
a77, a700, a200, Minolta 8000i, NEX C3, NEX 5N and more lenses than my wife suspects!
