Suppose using a FF lens on an APS-C body, on the latter you will get the "sweet spot", i.e. the center of a lens has better rendering than the corners, thus using a medium format (MF) lens on a FF body (a900 in your case, till you acquire the a99, which I strongly recommend) will give you the sweet spot of that lens.
Mind you, soviet lenses are cheap but are not bad. After all they were the copy of the German ones (albeit of the 1940s-50s). Any soviet modification later on on a specific lens, made them awful.
The adapter I got on eBay is a chipped one, which shows EXIF as 50/1.7 which I don't mind (at least the steady shot works a bit). As far as I remember you were using a Hasselblad lens on your a900, am I right?
Difference between a Pentacon 6 and a Hasselblad is the difference in the register (flange), 74.1mm vs 82.1mm respectively.
By the way, Pentacon 6 and Kiev 60 were copies of German Exakta 66.
Oh and the mount is breech lock.

That's a lovely shot, Doc. I really like the B&W conversion as well. A great set up in the right hands. I've sadly let my a100 kit go. It was not worth much but it isn't getting used anymore and I thought better to re-cycle it into the system.

While testing my new Sony 135 T4.5 I managed to persuade my daughter to stand still long enough by asking her to take a picture of me! She is using her new camera - a Nikon! Coolpix S31. "Family friendly" it says on the box. Nice and simple, light, easy to operate, and of course .... it comes in shocking pink! (The camera strap is from my Sony DSC-V1. Shortens down to the right length, and a nice comfortable feel to it. We are searching for a pink one.)

(Before anyone asks - the corresponding picture of me is technically o.k., but as a picture of an anonymous figure sprawled over a tripod and camera, it doesn't really count as a portrait . )
