Is the water safe to drink? Mmm. Good question. In recent years there have been many scare stories about water quality, even in remoter parts of the UK. Perhaps it is a story perpetuated by the people who sell water purification equipment. Nevertheless, the standard advice is don't drink the water, and so I haven't for years and years. It does make a nice picture though

Yes, it does and would have been great if authorities also permitted drinking, given it actually was fresh from the thawing snow and with no foreign tainting matter or particle.

Still going through the Isle of Skye trip photos. We were just out for a walk (between torrential down-pours) and I liked the look of this little waterfall. I had the Next 6 with 16-50, and use a polariser to get some slower speeds and cut down water glare.

Great sense of depth here Birma. I like the way you have layered things from foreground to background. You have good compositional skills.

Do these count? Somewhere over Greenland, flying from London to Toronto back in 1981ish.




And in Scotland, travelling north up Glen Coe.

Why not? no one said you have to be on terra firma to shoot the landscapes.

Amazing ones, Cogito.

Greenland is especially interesting for me since it looks like a frozen, sun-lit moon; pretty alien and uncharted in this shot.

They are all beautiful landscapes .. : )

I couldn’t make my mind up about the barn shots Caporip, in the end I went with Birma and I like the post-apocalyptic #2 version the best.

Those Greenland photos are a time capsule Cogito good ones, the one with the airstrip reminded me of the tragic tale of the B29 that was lost in Greenland. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/military/b29-frozen.html
