Great shot with pastel pinks and blues of the port, David Antony and I like the more realistic first shot as well. It must be good walk during the sundown, witnessing those colours taking over.

How beautiful a fruit tree is when it's loaded with such healthy and juicey new harvest. The apricots look delicious. I'm sure you'll make some neat golden liquors and what nots with them. Hope the 'Golden Aricot Festival' goes well.

36ºc. bit too hot for me Doc.

You definitely do not want to visit Phoenix, Arizona at this time of year.

My daughter and her family returned there last Friday, after spending the week with us in California, and she said that the temperature went from 26 C in California to 46 C in Phoenix.

It has also been above 50 C in Phoenix this summer.

Tom I last went to Arizona by boat in April 93. Even then it was a bit warmer than we are now.
My neighbour said it was very cool this past winter, he spends Nov to March every year in Scottsdale, Arizona.

I know less is more and hopefully you won't see photography nightmares after you see the photo below. I'm a little rusty with plate art lately but I got the chance to do the colour test after seeing Greg's Hibiscus and rose shots in Flowers 2013 thread. He asked if the reds were tomato red and so on...

In the shot below, which I titled "Duck Of An Other Kind" all colours are exactly as they appeared in real life; tomato is tomato red; onion is exactly that purple and the greens as well. It's a very crowded and busy photo taken with A100 and CZ 16-80mm but colours proved right.

Heat can make you do interesting things to escape it and the platter is for the still-childish-at heart. I personally don't know if there's any bird or duck with similar features....
For the curious ones, the bird and the eggs were made from red lentil and bulgur. It's a popular dish in Turkey.

Nice work Yildiz that dish looks nice and fresh and inviting and the tomato red does look authentic, I suspect the culprit with me was the fill flash coupled with the underexposure to stop the flash blowing the highlights that contributed to the wrong result with the red, scarlet instead of red, the colour difference on the rear screen compared with the subject was huge.
Actually I even produced a wrong colour with the yellow Hibiscus I think, because I saw another couple of blossoms today and those were actually more like the original photos I took before I altered them to be more yellower later in PP, (when I no longer had a flower to look at), I’m still wondering how I managed that one because I’m sure I was comparing the results on the rear screen to the actual flower at the time and couldn’t get the yellow tone to agree even with lots of experimenting with settings. The only other thing I can think of is that they change colour slightly at different stages.
Another problem is the winter sun here is not actually shining on that part of the garden directly at the moment so the light is dull, hence the flash to attempt to brighten things up a little.
I’ll have to book it mostly down to operator error I think (at least with the yellow, I’m still not entirely sure about the scarlet result) and apologize to the A100 (in case I hurt its feelings).

This is how they came out originally, the flowers I noticed today were closer to this than my more yellower ones, I don't think I'll meddle too much in future, I only make it worse.

Yes, the tomato is exactly that red... Your A100 will probably have a peace of mind tonight after your sweet apology!

The light pertaining to Australia's seasons and the compensation attempts probably have a say in the colour diffrenciations, as you said.

That's a very beautiful yellow Hibiscus, by the way. : )

Hi David Antony,

Two nice shots from your vicinities; love the first for what the signs read in the first. Why and how the others get thrown back is intriguing. Fishermen are very much loved it appears. And finally, nice choice of place for your name on the post box.

The horizon is definitely on fire in the second. Very vibrant sunset in progress.


As for the lentil duck and the eggs, I was the one who had a go at them...enjoying them very much, I'm afraid. Thank you for the nice words!
