Re: Weather Today-In Your Vicinity 2013
That field looks really scorched and over grazed, DA. I think some places in the UK would gladly send some of the recent heavy rain storms here your way. One place had over 18 inches of rain in a number of hours yesterday which led to extreme localised flooding, with houses flooded and roads washed away

Re: Weather Today-In Your Vicinity 2013
Weather In Istanbul:Mostly Cloudy
Temperature:24 °C ; Feels Like 24 °C
Wind(km/h):22
50% chance of precipitation
--------------------------------------------------------
It was actually raining in Istanbul when I woke up this morning!
Beautiful, beautiful....I had a great time watching the rain in sync with an Elvis Presley concert as the musical background after a long-distance friend reminded me of how I used to love his songs and singing; a good match, I must say. It was a very proper rain shower that I'm sure all living little creatures and plants loved. : ))
Thank you, David Antony.
It's the usual marine traffic but minus the fishermen's little boats that I sometimes see gathered to catch fish in small circles in the Marmara Sea.
Great looking horses! Were you lucky enough to get the rain you hoped for? The field does lok rather too dry from the photo. Very unsual for your part of the World. I watched a documentary on Tar Sands of Canada and now I know that a land as big as the size of England is under the threat of turning industralized for oil.
The arial views were very saddening and the environmental impact is not assessed it appears.
Thanks for sharing your weather.

Hopefully the rain will return DA, according to Wiki July and August is typically dry-ish in Vancouver but it seems June has been very dry too, extending the dry spell.
Nice pic btw.
Greg
Ps I have been reading a weather article (not finished yet) about how the weather systems and wind patterns are changing. It claims that the arid zones parallel to the equator (both sides) have moved about 200 Km further north and south since the average global temperature has risen.
I used to be a skeptic about global warming but I’ve changed my mind, I think we and the planet are in trouble, seriously. The big polluters need to stop trashing the place ASAP…now would be a good time.

Might stifle the backbone and the muscles on a longish road but it sure can work in an emergency situation until the gas runs out. : )

BC Day (Holiday) Tsawwassen 22ºc clear.
Yildiz I took the biker pic outside a house in Chilliwack I took title to last Friday. The mini biker lives just across the street, he has 3 of them, ;^) Took it Sunday (yesterday) as I was moving stuff in for Steph’s Mom who I bought it for.
Took a couple hour ride around on my bike today. Here are some of the shots I took.
Shopping cart at our local grocerie store Thrifty’s.

Oyster Catcher @ Tsatsu Shores.

Lady Kyaker Fraser River.

Duck in Ladner.

Hands down beautiful and cheerful! : ) Who can resist shopping from Thrifty when that giant shopping cart is parked in the parking area.
Lovely shots from the neighbourhood, David. Envy the Lady Kyaker very much. Anything to be in or on the water!
Thanks for sharing the neighbourhood, David Antony. And congratulations on the purchase of the new house...a nice and generous present. : )) Neighbours got themselves a golden-hearted man and if they only knew it.

An interesting and lively collection DA, those mini bikes made a brief incursion here as well but the cops clamped down (killjoys) on them pretty quickly, no lights, no indicators, no registration or third party insurance and it’s also illegal to ride a motorbike on the footpath (except the postie seems to do it all the time) so they seem to have gone quiet here.
Is that the shopping trolley from the jackass movie?
Pretty generous DA, buying a house for the mother in law, could be a couple of brownie points there I think...
It’s great you have semi tame Oystercatchers there, I see Pied Stilts here often and the occasional Oystercatcher but from long distance.

Re: Weather Today-In Your Vicinity 2013
Seems to be as many females in & around the river on kayaks as males Yildiz,
plus it’s a year round thing. You would enjoy I'm sure. ;^)
Those Oyster guy’s don’t scare easy Greg. I stopped to watch the the small craft on the water for a while before I noticed, it was only about 75’ in front of me. Still there when I left, the noise of the bike sends most birds packing. I sold the house in
Abbotsford and ended up with change after buying in Chilliwack. ;^)
Thanks Birma, saw the shopping cart last year for the first time, I think it spends time at all their locations. The wheels are about truck size.

It has been brutally tropical around these parts the last couple of weeks. Yesterday evening, a cold front entered our country and you know what happens then hot meets cold:

Awasome lightening shot, Mark.
There are a couple of stars visible too. I am amazed yet again that a camera like the RX 100 shot this frame. It's a good camera.
Very impressed.
Thanks for sharing,

Thanks, it was a pretty impressive sight!
The 'stars' are actually drops of rain on the window I was shooting through
I too am happy with the image quality of the RX100.

Yes, I actually realised that after I posted the message but did not feel it necessary to edit my post in case there actually was a star there that got mixed up with the brightness of the rain drops.
