Old, abandoned motel in Nevada:



By the way, I watched the Kevin Costner/Kurt Russell movie 3000 Miles to Graceland on TV recently. I recognized this old motel in the movie.

Hi Henry - I really like the B&W cabin shot. It is probably just me but in the motel shot, in the left foreground, it looks like there is a shadow of a figure with dreadlocks (wearing sunglasses?) . (This may entirely be due to two glasses of wine before dinner .)

That's the shadow of a pitiful old palm tree that needed to be put out of its misery.

I took this photo 6 years ago and I don't recall what highway this old motel was on so I haven't seen it again. I don't know if the old trees are stumps now. I recall that it was late in the afternoon and I was on a road trip from Vancouver, British Columbia to Austin, Texas and was not far from Las Vegas. The light was good so I pulled off the road and took a few photos of this old abandoned motel.

Henry- Nice shots Is that a Predator in the motel shot?
Ewan- Great graffiti shots. I agree with Birma on the light on the inside shot. Was that luck, or did you wait for it?
