Thanks DA and Yildiz :D .

I was lucky to have a very still afternoon with little or no breeze. The lens is very sharp as you say, and the MF Assist function on the Nex, with tripod and remote (IR) release makes for a good technical result IMHO. They are a really attractive flower I think, and a very photogenic shape.

Thanks Greg - those three took some very careful gardening to set up. They had grown up straight through the leaf litter which was tangled around them - it was quite fiddley to free them, ensuring I didn't damage the plant of course :) .

Wonderful time lapse video there DA - amazing variety of plants covered as well.

For those in the UK with an interest in plants, the BBC have a fabulous series on at the moment - How to Grow a Planet http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01bywvr. I think Aunty Beeb may have some restrictions on those from outside of the UK accessing the site, not sure.

Spring has arrived indeed Marcell :D - lovely Crocus shot - like the colour and the control of dof.

Very sweet, Marcell.

Indeed a creamy bokeh that holds a background for a neatly detailed sharp flower... Nicely composed too. : )

Wonderful shots Marcell - all with great lighting. I especially like the crocuses - such great colours :)

I agree with Birma about the crocusses. The extra rimlight seems to accent the lighter parts of the petals very nicely. They stick out from the background.

I find the first the least attractive as you can see the use of the lightsource too much on the subject. Good for the tryout though.
