As for your flower shots, hold right there? Once and for all, I will not comment on your flower shots till you get yourself the 135 STF, and do tell my anger to the missus. Shame on both of you to shoot disrespectfully such beauties. What a sin towards Mother nature. tsk, tsk, tsk
N.B.: Sony, don't forget my commission.

Re: Flowers 2013
yessir.... I shall let the missus know of your anger and beseech her to take necessary
steps to return the situation to peaceful state.
As for your comment, Mark fully deserves it. I am not offended.
With best regards,
Sury
PS: why the 135 STF? I heard about it but isn't that one a special function lens? Just curious.

You guys crack me up
If you are a real trooper, you march right out to the camerashop and come home with the a99 AND 135 STF... and then run for your life from the missus when you tell her
The STF is manual focus only and isn't that fast (lighttransmission is f/4 if I recall). But the bokeh is so smooth... perfect for flower shots as the MFD and magnification is very useful for floral shots in my opinion.
@Doc: thank you very much for te compliments!

Re: Flowers 2013
Hey come on, the STF is not for flowers only. Try it for portraits, even kids (if they sit still, of course). It's a versatile lens, except for action shots.
So you can't use it for birds in flight, or sports, but all other (steady) items are good for it.
But... all that in cases where you need open apertures.
It's on my wish list.
Mind you, if you have OVF, then it will be quite hard to focus (re: you'll dump at least 75% of your shots, due to misfocusing. Heil for EVF here).

Re: Flowers 2013
The lens can do action shot just fine Doc, there is no human being that can focus that fast however But you are right of course about portraiture.
Are you back from the shop yet sury?

Mark,
Not yet..... I can see the news item. Wife left husband after 25 years of marital bliss.

With CZ2470.

Look at the details. The tendrils are not visible to the naked eye. Do I still need at 135 STF? I am trying to make a case here to present it to my wife.

Re: Flowers 2013
Your 24-70 doesn't seem to have problems with resolving fine detail Sury .
However, as Mark says, the bokeh is dreadful . The Doc will write you a prescription.

Re: Flowers 2013
ROTFLMAO That is very funny Dusty.
Good question the first one. Is it 25 marriages of 1 year each (true bliss ) or
25 years of 1 marriage or in between? In my case it is 25 years of 1 marriage, for the record.
Any venture into your second question might be construed as violating Forum policy on language used.

Re: Flowers 2013
Can't take all the credit for that. My Dad always stated that Mom and he "Have been happily married for 32 years - 32 out of 46 ain't too bad, is it?"
Sometimes Mom would say that 32 was a bit high!
