Not much of a flower in the real sense but basil is something every garden and hillside have in varieties on the Mediterranean coast.

Hi Yildiz, interesting to see plant with the flower stalks. I am more used to just seeing the leaves on a pizza .

Thanks!

The plant can grow up to 100 cm. but this one was around 50 cm. The flowers are a little more than 1 cm. in diameter. Later they can be cut from the stem and dried to be utilized during winter season.

While out in the woods today, some late colour from some large blooms of clover along the edge of the path.

Both with A700 and Tamron 60 f/2.

(A nice flip out screen with live view and zoom-in focus confirm would have saved some damp knees today .)

Birma I'm shocked, you wouldn't seriously use a wussy foldout screen...would you? Just kidding, I agree the foldout screen is definitely one thing Sony did right for macro shooters, however unintentionally.

ps. In all the excitement I forgot about the images, I like the brighter colour of the first one, but the bokeh is better in the second I think, I wonder what those little flowers would look like really close up, that might be interesting to see as well.

Evening All,

I added a CZ 16-35mm f2.8 to the bag this weekend so I took the opportunity to go for a short walk at lunch today with the following result

Hi Bruce - congratulations on the new CZ lens in the bag (one day, one day ). Both are lovely clear pics, and if I had to pick one I prefer the more "impressionistic" view from the CZ 135. I guess that 135 can be a nice focal length for flower portraits - how does it work out with the minimum focus distance?
