Birma, I see what you mean. Both John and Dennis have the same effect. I will try to dial down the aperture try them again.
I was struggling with over powering of flash so I went up to f22, the lowest I can get. May be try it during day light or diffuse the flash and try at wider aperture. Appreciate your point of view for sure.

Thanks guys- I wanted to go out again today, but the clouds have rolled in, so maybe tomorrow I can get some more shots of the bluebonnets.
Sury- I almost always shoot flowers (and I don't do it that often) wide open, or maybe 1 stop down. I'm not brave enough to try flash, at least not in the wild. John

The riot of pink blossoms usually remind me of Tilly because of her very special love for pink attires. : ) The quince bush looks like a little girl covered in pink flowers with bees flying about her like atoms.
