Been working away recently and unable to give too much time to the forum, with regret.

However, I had a great day out with my photo club at a falconry and took some good ones.

Here are a couple:

Red tailed Buzzard called Odo


Eurasian Eagle Owl called Boo


The very reduced size for the web do not do them justice. Wonderful treat to see them so closely. More on my website.

BTW, used my new SAL70200f2.8G hand held.

I never saw an eagle owl flying, I once helped recovering a injured one, a friend of mine had it in "custody" for some time... broken wing or something.
That buzzard is stunning. They are so photogenic...
What is the last bird in your show? I don't remember. Is it a buzzard too?

Superb Brian, both great shots especially the buzzard.

I came across some sort of buzzard & prey with my 5-D
Sigma 70-300, was a grab shot! no where near your league.

Great shots Brian, and very impressive with the big lens hand held. On your site I really like the barn owl tucking in to the black berries. Looks like you had a nice day for it as well. Thanks for sharing the photos.

I should have a lot more soon as I managed to arrange a bit of a coup

There was only 6 of us from the NNPS and we had a special day to ourselves. We each chose a bird from the falconer's collection and he drove them out to the countryside in Warwickshire for us to photograph with selected backdrops, plus a couple of extra birds that flew for us.
During the day he mentioned that he would love someone to photograph all of his 30+ birds of prey to show on his website and I was first in with the offer .
We are going to set a day aside soon and I'll have access to all of them, so watch this space
