The now called "Maldives" used to be the home of a Royal Air Force base on Gan, and when I flew out to Singapore as a young buck of some seventeen summers in 1965 we landed there in a four prop Brittannia aircraft. I can still remember as we decended looking out of the tiny window and I all I could see was the sea. Honestly thought I was going to meet my maker, but instead I met paradise :D

Oh, and if Photoclubalpha forum decides to stage member's competitions kingfisher, you are not eligible 'cos you are far too good and it simply wouldn't be fair on us mortals

Gustav you have a talent of getting the best colour and sharpness that is possible out of a scene. please tell me you spent hours and hours on PP on these shots?

the left foot off the lizard is not sharp , but thats normal if you taken this shot at 2.8 than you have a little place off sharpness
his left foot , is not ugly plastic , it`s only not sharp , the lizard has a length of fifteen centimetre , so the picture is a big crop

i think i now the problem

i look at the original , and you can see below his leeft feet , a hole in the tree , in the hole there is white
round the hole it`s wet , i think it`s a kind of resin
i started with my picture`s in LIGHTROOM , than i opened in ELEMENTS
when i open the picture in ADOBE ELEMENTS 6 , i have a plug in , for put out noise , when i do that , the place where there is resin its blurred and shiny

sorry for my bad english i can better speak it than whrite it , dfficult words i must look for , on translation site`s
and almost every word is difficult for me :) :) :) :)

but if i do this a hole year , my letters shall be better.....i hope

It does look like it's a smoother area on the branch where something has taken away the sharp features on the bark. but the subject is so strong in that picture i'm surprised anyone would notice it until it's pointed out.

Don't the 70~200 2.8 have a wierd bokeh when focusing close up?
