Hi All!

It was nice to be back in the theater yesterday, albeit with masks and a "virtual" audience.

I was running one of the video cameras for the broadcast, but I managed to get a couple of photos during the rehearsal, and a few more during the actual performance. The dancers wore their masks for the rehearsals but not for the performance.

Yeah ... Masked dancers! This is certainly something extraordinary. How do they manage to breathe like that, and even dance?
When will it all end with the virus ...

I agree with Valery. They are interesting shots with the masks on the subjects.
Once I get past the mask, I see beautifully captured poses.

Yes, breathing through masks makes the dancing a little harder. For those of us who have experience dancing in roles that require wearing things like Mouse King and Nutcracker heads, it's business as usual. But now it seems the other dancers have acquired some empathy for us, having to deal with the breathing restrictions first hand.

Very good sets that also will identify itself as 'a certain era's' photos in years to come. Masks certainly made signature presences in all of our activities with good reason.

I love the pastel colour palette of the costumes against the dark background. What's the name of the performance they are dancing to, if I may ask?

Good to see that you have a new responsibility as a broadcaster during the pandemic. We need to keep our brain's neurons in stark condition and these virtual performances are keeping us as close to 'normal' as possible. Good job!

Thinking that masks in our photos will mark an era might seem to be an exaggeration at the moment, but it's so true. For the purpose of recording history, I think that we should all take lots of photos of people in their everyday lives wearing masks.

The performance is entitled "This Is - Who We Are" and consists of small ensemble works choreographed by Gen Horiuchi and set to J.S. Bach’s French Suites.

The performance premiers October 24 at 7:30 pm U.S. Central Time, and is available for viewing on-line from 25-27 October, 2020.

A complimentary (free) ticket is required to view the performance. The ticket is only available until October 23, 12 pm U.S. Central Time.

Get the FREE ticket by going to the St. Louis Ballet webpage link (below) and clicking on the box that says "Get Your Complimentary Ticket by Oct 23, 12pm".

I was able subscribe to Saint Louis Ballet's You Tube channel and watched a couple of recent behind-the-scenes video uploads from former dancers. Looking forward to the streamed performance. Much love and appreciation for everyone involved!
