Good start Valery. My drivers are not connected back yet due to windows replacement work going on at home.
I will start adding to thread soon.

Thanks for starting the thread, Valery. I like those landscapes. :) Is there a name for that type of rock art?

I think that it’s a shame that this lens was discontinued now that we finally have cameras with the technology (high ISO and high shutter speeds) that can enable it to be used effectively while being handheld. And it’s autofocus too!

Thanks Valery!

I think that sports fans would go nuts for this lens too. Usually you have to have a "press pass" in order to get into a stadium with a big lens, but no one at the gates gives this small lens a second look. I get the usual "come on in and have a nice day" greeting. :)

Very good shots!
For the sport "press pass" works only sometime, most of the time they not really friendly to the press too. :) It's commercial events, especially a hockey games.

Thanks everyone. :)

Even though this lens was designed to be a compact/lightweight telephoto, I often challenge myself to find ways to use its odd bokeh to create something artsy. :)

There were purple lights in the bushes behind this skeleton. The len's bokeh makes them look a bit like spooky eyeballs. :D

To me this looks almost like an etching because of the way the storm clouds were distorted by the bokeh.

It's good to see this forum back and free of spam. Here are a few Minolta AF 500mm Reflex shots from the archive:
