Recently a friend of mine suggested that we should have a photography session focusing on B&W photography with flowers.
He was suggesting something a la Edward Weston style lillies (he introduced me to Edward Weston, btw). I always shot in color,
with the belief that I would have more options converting them to B&W using myriad options. But today I decided to let the camera
to the work and chose rich tone b&w from photo effects menu on my A99M2. I took both with flash and without flash as a part of my experiment in high key B&W experiment. As always, your feedback and opinions are most welcome and appreciated.
Same position but different exposure, aperture and shutter values.

Re: My foray into B&W photography
Continuing the experiment, this time I went for black background by tinkering with flash and exposure.
My challenge has been to get the stamen (?) which are dark orange (but black here) to stand out against black background.
So after experimenting with flash and exposure and not been too successful, I went back to basics. One flash on the camera
and PWL with a household flash light.

Last one for color balance. Maybe you could lighten the orange in post. Composition a bit crowded.
Still, nice effort.
