Since it has been raining continually in our area, I was mostly confined to home, except for one evening I managed to get
some cloudy skies.

I like two and three better for colours and composition with third being a tad better.
The first image is rather undecided on goals; what is the focus of the image: the centrical part of the orchid or overall?

:) Thanks for sharing, Sury.

Yildiz, I did the overall part and found it to be bland, so emphasized the center.

I see what you mean, Sury. :)
Thanks for clarifying.

Here are three more....
I was experimenting with a hand held flash light (or torch light) and realized the side of the flower is "over exposed" and
became white but due to long exposure the top of the flower retained its original color. I liked the effect it created, though
a thoroughly yellow color may not have been very interesting.
Image

The orchid was an interesting challenge. I was experimenting with flash, flash light and flash with manually triggering the flash by pushing test button
etc. I could not find the right balance between white washing petals and clarity in the central part of the flower. Eventually I managed to get the best possible balance by not using any artificial source. I played with shutter and exposure with some post tweaks in light room. Though I removed other branches etc., no flowers were hurt in the process.
Image

This particular one is an outcome of an oversight. I love the extreme colors and no it was not ham fisted post processing.
To start with it was 9 image bracket at 2 secs, and merged in Machinery HDR. But the preset was used was a preset I saved while
processing a landscape few years ago from Pismo Beach. The flash was on the flower above the flower, the burnt orange is the shadow
created by the light (front petals). I don't think I can ever come up with the color scheme I ended, even in my imagination.

.

The changes to the rose bloom is uncanny in the third photo!
The machinery work resulted in such colour work that makes the bloom appear as though exposed to radioactive radiation; no reasoning and no boundaries with colour dispersion..
Nice series...

:D Thanks for sharing,

This one is with Ceiling LED lights.

This is HDR using PWL technique
Image

This is with flash. The exif shows no flash fired. The technique I have been using is that I use the test button to fire the
flash after shutter is open. The shutter was set to 4s.

This is my experiment with light (study the light effects) session.

Hi, Sury;

I like the first one as well. The tulip took on an interesting rosy colour thanks to LED lights. I love these warmer tones.. :)

Thanks for sharing,

Yildiz,
Thank you. I am beginning to appreciate warmer tones better, of late.

Hijacking this thread.
It's been two months since I held a camera. The tree out front is blooming.
