Here are a few photos from a recent trip that my wife and I made here in Peru.

Sony a77ii w/ Tamron 70-300 Sony a77ii w/ Tamron 70-300 This last one was taken with the iPad 6. I think it turned out alright.

The first two are in a place called the valley of the volcanos, and is a little like craters of the moon with lava fields and cinder cones.
This last one is of Corapuna, the 3rd highest peak in Peru at 20,922 feet (6,377 meters). Here you can see the lava field and where it stopped abruptly.

And a panorama of 12 photos stitched in LR.

We also saw some beautiful waterfalls.

Fantastic shots Jeff. I am very nostalgic. The country is amazing and those vistas are grand.

It's been a neat photo-trip for me, Jeff.

These are incredibly clear and crisp vistas and the wild flora is unmistakably makes the scenes more authentic.
I like each scene of each photo.

I am curious about one thing: how's the scent of the crisp air in this area ? Something we can't detect from photos. Is it a joy to breath around that part ...

Thanks Valery, Sury, and Yildiz for the comments. We put on the miles and had only one minor mishap. Thankfully the tire went flat while we were in a town were we could get it fixed. At any rate, it allowed me to brush up on my tire changing skills. Here are the cheap cell phone shots of my recertification as competent to change tires. The mask was just in case the tire was contagious. Hahahaha! Crazy times!

It's always a joy to breathe fresh clean, crisp, chilly mountain air. That being said, at 15,700 ft the oxygen is a little scarce. It was amazing how a little climb up a little tiny hill in order to take a picture was sufficient feel the lack of O2 that my body was screaming for. When we hit 16,000 ft I didn't bother doing much walking.

That's a good way of giving us an impression of what to expect at these heights: Crisp, clean and literally 'breathtaking'....

Yildiz, "breathtaking" is the perfect word.

The moonrise our first night of the trip. The moon was nearly full and just crept up over the mountain tops to the right of the camera lighting up the stone fence.

In detail abundance it's almost like an early morning or afternoon light condition kind of shot, Jeff.

I love that you went low to accommodate the stone wall as your base, raising our eyes to the cosmic sky beyond with some strange-looking plants creating an alien appearance; almost like watching space from a rocky moon's surface ...
