for me there are to thinks , to shoot in a zoo
the first is , that jou can practise with youre camera

the second is that , you can make ik diffecult , to shoot the animals, without jou can see it is in the zoo

I especially like the first one. The second appears to be focussed sharply on the beak rather than the eye, but thank you for sharing them kingfisher.

i am working at a special pose of the kingfisher , but it cost a lot of work and hours

Gustav, which software do you use for PP? Your pictures always stand out.

You did a great job of getting them without any visible "zoo" evidence, not an easy thing too do sometimes, very good shots as well.

Hi jcoffin, welcome to the forum, and what a great first post with some lovely pictures. I'll have another vote for the snake.

I really like the lioness picture with the rocky lion-coloured background.

I think I'll have to agree the "snake" (I don't think it would be the "nice kitty" or the falcon), is the one not in a zoo, although I must say the head of the snake looks more like a legless lizard too me.
Oh, and I guess I'll have too fill in for Dr. H and welcome you to the forum jcoffin, (looks like his connection is still playing up).

No real surprise there -- that's pretty much what a snake is. Lizards and snakes are both reptiles, but snakes have no limbs (and only one lung that really functions). I don't think this type of snake does, but I believe some snakes still have vestiges of limbs.

Thank you. No, it's an old Tamron 70-210/2.8. It doesn't have nearly the cult status of the beercan, but I've been dragging around for long enough now (close to 20 years, now that I think about it) that the camera bag just feels wrong (though a lot lighter) when I leave it behind.
