The other thing that happens this time of year in the UK is firework displays.

The local council had one at Blyth on Sunday, heres a couple of shots. A700 with KM 17-35mm on a tripod, cable release, set on B, manual focus.







I tried to capture some of the excitement and movement that you get at a display.

Definitely a dramatic way to capture them! Nice reletively long exposures!

Those are so DIFFERENT from most farks pix.

That makes it interesting, the inclusion of the silhouetted audience, adds a kind of extra relevance.

Glad you pointed that out Don! I really like the soft highlights on all the heads and shoulders in the audience.

The most interesting fireworks images I have seen...superb.

Great pictures Murph. I, like those above, like the crowd at the bottom of the shots. (Also a new shorthand term for me from DK; "farks"!)

'Farks' comes from doing firework displays for kids when they were too young to get the word right (in Notts not Scotland though).
