Not a very new photo but I'm interested in how you like the processing and so on...
Here goes:

Hi Zeb, I really like the look of the photo, the de-saturated (un-saturated?) feel, and "grainey". The "models" are posed really nicely. I wonder if it would look better more tightly cropped around the two faces, almost the top right hand quarter of the frame.

(It seems a definite family resemblance around the eyes. )

A candid shot worth taking seriously...It's good that you darkened the background, to lose it to the eyes of the viewer. Now the viewer is compelled to look into the expressive eyes and meet the emotion in them. The hint of colour around the faces reveal that father and son share the same eye colour which enhances the bonding.

In other simple terms, your son is a small, cute replica of yourself who's very aware and confident of your love!

Nice shot, but I would've done it in a mirror way, i.e. flip the picture vertically, so you go at the left end and your cute son on the right side of the shot.
And of course B&W would be nice.
But that's just me.
Dante is very cute.

It's different...sort of half way to sepia toning, not a bad effect actually, did you try pushing one all the way?

As the photo is already cropped I'm not sure if I want to take it any further with my 7D being "only" 6MP, but for web publication it might work... I'll definitely consider it, thanks!
Actually I get to hear that he resembles me quite often

I'm not sure in what way the shot would improve from being flipped, but I guess it is personal taste. It would sure feel "wrong" for me knowing how the shot actually was taken
B&W is an idea... Let's see if I get the time to try it!
Yeah, he sure is cute.. I just hope he doesn't relize it himself for another 20 years or so... haha

Pushing it all the way to sepia? No... But the photo is B&W bottom layer, with a layer of the original colour layered over it with low opacity, to get sort of high contrast / soft colour effect.

Casual is the word, I took the camera with flash and sat down in a corner of our kitchen - hoping to get some snaps of Dante playing. Curious as he is he quickly climbed into my lap to see what I was doing, so no other option than to hold up the camera and shoot us both.

The processing is something I've tried a couple of times and I think it works perticularly well in this image for some reason.

My taste are simple, and I also have little knowledge of post production techniques. So I like an unprocessed look or B&W. I think my preferences are based on my limitations.
However, the eyes are striking. No doubt about who this little guy belongs to. Question, does he get the drooling from you as well?
