Another that's a couple of years old (taken with the Maxxum 7D), but thought a few people might find it interesting. This one was pretty close to pure luck -- no blind, no stalking, nothing of the sort. I was literally just walking down the path, and he suddenly ran across the path, and then stopped and posed for what seemed like a whole minute or so (checking the timestamps on the pics, it turns out it was about 20 seconds). The biggest problem was that he was really too close for the lens I was using (70-210/2.8, with 1.4 converter), but I was afraid to switch lenses, figuring when/if I moved much, he'd leave (and when he did, it was a completely unrecognizable blur, even at 1/350th of a second ).

I can feel the excitement of the moment. Good work. Wildlife photography is about the moment. It's a bonus if everything else is perfect.

It is at that. Even in this case, when not everything was perfect, I consider a real bonus anyway. Even if I hadn't had the camera, just seeing him up close like that was a real treat.
