Things to do when its cold?

Unread post by paulmurphy »

I didn't get any more frosty shots, but as I was driving along the coast I saw the water sports people were out.

Surfing and Kayaking!! (this is the North sea in November - the phrase 'brass monkey and welder' springs to mind)

First three A700 + Beercan

Finally a bit of differential focus, with the 200f2.8

Hello Paul,

Lovely, inspiring shots once again! :D

I enjoyed the fist three images with the sequentially breaking waves and its incredible blues reflecting the sky colour. You have the story intact in these and the light is very good. I don't own a beercan, but thought of acquiring one many times against the new Sony 70-300 SSM G and your shots made me reconsider the lens once again.
The last photo of the family is nice but I believe that it would benefit from a little space either to the left thus capturing more of the breaking wave or to the right capturing more of a sane ocean. I think a horizontal frame would of done this nicely for you. Just my humble thoughts of course! :D

Thanks for sharing, and do go on sending in more of these...

Good series, Paul!

It's #3 here, that I like best. The reflections really make it.

I prefer #4. Lovely shot with a dramatic mood.
