Fall Colors Finally

Texas, it seems, didn't get its most brilliant fall colors until late November!

I shot these yesterday at Fort Worth's Japanese Gardens. Click the images to go to their respective deviant art pages for larger views. :D

The colors are worth the wait, aren't they?
Nice images.

Kevin, if you don't mind me saying so, your Japanese gardens photos are getting better-looking with each new series. :D

The use of colours into compositions is very nice. Especially the last one has that rich, rounded, bouncy appearance of a Japanese woman's traditional/historical dress...Brought back some memories! :D

Great series. And while the last one shows this lush, abundant red like a last firework of nature, my preference is the first one with this almost shy wide-angle approach, giving the wonderfully colored tree the space it deserves to develop and show its beauty.

Well done - Markus

Lovely colours, the second one is my favourite with the green base balancing the reds, and the gold in the background lifting the image as a whole.

Great pics! These reds are nearly super-natural.

Thank you Doc, Bossel, Yildiz, Murph, Winston, and Markus. I barely did anything to the color...in a couple I actually desaturated them to get space for more contrast and detail, but mostly they were too unbelievable! My fault for shooting "Vivid." The best part of the whole trip was when my wife kept stealing the camera out of my hands (and handing me her warm coffee instead). I wish I'd had another camera just to shoot some pictures of her shooting the colors! (Hmmm, Panasonic LX3? No Kevin, put it out of your head...) I was able to snap one on my 1.3 MP cell-phone camera though...

And here's one more from my a700
