Hi Gustav,

Always nice to see a real Dutch landscape. The canal or lake looks frozen and there's even an ice-skater! It must be very, very cold where your town is..

Impressive. Love the soft colours and the mood in the pictures.
I'm a big fan of windmills. Here in sweden an island called Öland is famous for its windmills. I live not far from there.

I love third most, then first. Of course all of them are great.

Nice series Gus. You need a sensor cleanup though. On the first I see a spot on the right, just below 1/3 from above. On the second I see the same spot and an extra spot left froem the wiek (that is Dutch, sorry don't know the English word for it). At #3 I don't see any, but it was too misty I think

Its number one for me which I think is beautiful, the sun contrasts too strongly with the pastel landscape in the others for my tastes.

It looks a lot colder there than over here in the UK, we've not had any conditions where the ice would hold a skater yet!

When I went to work today, I went to the desk of a colleague and used his browser to link to these pictures, without telling him what was going to appear. The instant the first photo began to form on his screen, he said "It's the Kinderdijk! There is a bicycle path there along the water. I have been on it many times!" Later, when looking at the picture of the ice skater, he said "You won't believe how much the weather in Holland can change in a short distance. I come from only 50 miles south of there and it never freezes in that area, but in the area of the Kinderdjk the water often freezes in winter."

My colleague, who is obviously from Holland, is a very interesting individual. He is a very, very good aircraft engineer who looks as if he is only about 60-65 years old, but he was in the Dutch Air Force in World War II, flew as a bush pilot in western Canada for a number of years after the war, and then came to the U.S. to obtain a degree in Engineering before starting work as an aircraft design engineer at Douglas Aircraft in the early Sixties.

FWIW, my colleague said that you did a superb job of capturing the way that area can look on a morning when the weather is like that. He also said that you took some great photos just from the artistic point of view - and I certainly agree with that statement.
