This winter so far has been non stop snowstorms. on my way home from work somtimes I run into these.


This usually means the plows have stopped runnng for the time being. and also to get anywhere you have to stay off these closed routes which are the main roads. The back roads aren't plowed as well but theres only sparce traffic on them. I carry recovery gear in my truck and some supplies in case I get stuck myself. Sorry about the flash and blurr I just couldn't light the sign up properly without being on the road.

View out the windsheild when there isn't anything reflective close to the truck. Many people lose track of where the road lies and drive off into ditches. In the picture there is another car stopped about 100 yards away facing me (you can see his lights).


What you can't see is in between us is a bridge over a creek after moving a little closer. we were both stopped because we know the bridge was there.. somewhere. a small drop in the wind speed exposed it and darkened the scene too.


we had a pretty good melt a couple weeks ago but now all that melted away is back again. I was hoping to get out more as the scerey is great with the constant supply of new snow but those days are pretty busy and I haven't had time.

Wow . Serious snow! I have been wondering about your local snow conditions, Javelin, ever since you mentioned some time ago (I think it was in the "fire" pictures) that soon the snow would cover cars and trucks parked in the street. It sounds like your predictions were right. I hope you get some spare camera time soon as it would be great to see some big-snow pictures. Where I live in the UK we hardly get any snow (2 inches in the night closes schools for a day on the rare occasions it does snow!) and so I'd love to see some pictures of proper snow . I expect those like you who get a whole heap of it don't see it as such a great thing!

that's a lot of snow, thanks for the shots, I've only been to the snow once after a 2 1/2 hour drive, I'm more a beach person

Wow - there must be some seriously nice scenes out there once the storm has settled and we see nature in white. That's something I'd like to see, if have the chance to shoot some!

I will try and get some nice snow scenes shot. The snow came early and burried my snowmobile this year but I got it dug out this weekend and will maybe be able to get into the back country between the farms with the camera. The snow isn't very deep now in open fields there is grass that can pop up through it in places.. drifts are about 4' high at the moment, thats where the really deep snow usually happens is where it drifts.

This is a parking lot at a little plaza. the plaza has 3 stores and parking for maybe 15 cars. They only have one place to put the snow and before we had our little melt it was looking like they were going to have to start trucking it away (which they usually have to do anyway but not until March or so)

Thats a 2 storey house poking out behind that.
