Street Photography in Fort Worth

I like the first 2, especially #1. While I see where you're going with 3 & 4, they're not my forte.

Kevin I like first the best, but if the people were a bit lightened I think it would be perfect!!

I agree, that one would have benefited from a fill-flash, even if I'd just popped up the on-camera flash, but I always forget that it's there.

Interesting cityscapes, #1 is cool, and normally I like buildings to have a footing even if it's only an inch of sidewalk I sortof like #4 the best for some reason, can't quite put my finger on exactly why though.

One more from that day. Taken with the 50/1.7 at f/11, 1/125 sec., ISO 800. I even resisted the urge to correct the perspective in this one (that is to say, I tried it but didn't like it

Hi Kevin,

The last frame is very nice. I like the contrast and the perspective. Lately I've been looking into many movies and photos to see how they wanted to see a highrise-city through a lens, be it a movie camera or a still camera. The most impressive shots were when the perspectives were left alone to their own apparences and not corrected. Somehow, they are not very concerned about getting tilt&shift, correction lenses.

Movies have been getting away from the more classical compositions, introducing more distorted views, camera shake, and generally more "gritty" perspectives. I was raised on movies so old that the camera usually stayed level, always only panned, never zoomed, tilted, or swooped over a scene. The compositions were exceedingly classical, with carefully placed elements and actors, so that the most important person to a scene or the strongest character was always made visually tallest. Think "Lawrence of Arabia," or "Forbidden Planet."
