Hello,
I also like the soft light that matches the colour of bird's feathers as the other posters above suggest but I believe that the bird is too centered. The composition where the bird is a little to the left and has more negative space on the right to the front of her where she looks ahead might make this photo work better.

Nice shot.
Love the "soft" look of it, its still very sharp. Hard to explain.
Nice rich colours and I think nice bokeh.

The soft look maybe caused by a special technique of mine known as the "dirty window" technique. I noticed in the morning it is very dusty so this may cause the overall soft look, while the 70-300 did what it should do on the bird. That's my theory, anyway. i take the point about it being too centred and will play about with cropping - heres another in the same series (well there's only two in it actually,,,,,,,) which i have cropped a bit:-
