A day trip to Sedona was quite nice.

I like that last one the best. Very nice.

Yeah, Sedona is a beautiful place. Been there several times.

We thought we could do it in half a day. No way, and I am glad we didn't try.
The retail feel of the town is a stark contrast with the landscape behind it. Although there are quite a few fine art stores that make for great browsing.

Yes, Sedona is an enchanting landscape!

I agree with bakubo about the third image of the first post, which captures the soul of Sedona as a mixture of high and low lands. The second post delivers what humans have done to it with basic thoughts of 'more money, more income', but I like the bronze Indian figures and the vividly blue bear still.

Yeah, it is the scenery, hiking, and photography that I like about Sedona. The commercial side, which has grown a lot over the years, turns me off. In 2007 my wife and I were on one of our long road trips and stayed in Sedona for several days. Of course, if you can you can get up to Zion NP, Bryce Canyon NP, Arches NP, and Canyonlands NP in Utah then they are even better. Monument Valley in NE Arizona is great too and, of course, Grand Canyon NP. The most amazing scenery I have ever seen. The first time I got to that part of the country was in 1999 and even though I had seen many photos and movies over the years it didn't prepare me for the reality. Awesome!

I second Yildiz and Henry for the third shot. I like the statues too.
