Pomegranate

Hi, I have made this picture by a100 (I forgot my a700 that day) + USSR Industar 61MC 50mm/2.8 lens.
I would like to know your opinions about the colors, whether they are good or more saturated?

Armen, saturation is too much and I think the background is a bit distracting. Sorry, buddy.

It looks about right for an advertising shot! Otherwise, unless you have an exceptional pomegranate, it is a bit over saturated.

Hello,
Armen, by over-saturating you made the seeds appear brighter and juicy while the peel/shell gained a plastic look as though covered with dried oil paint. As Dr. Harout says either you can reduce saturation amount or select the seedy part in an editting program and saturate the seeds only so that the peel can preserve its natural look.

What can you suggest how to change background, only color or something abstract.

Hi,
You can select the fruit in the front in the editting software and then defocus the background moderately by using the 'blur' function of the program. This will emphasize the front element in the photo. I don't think that changing the background altogether will do the trick but defocusing will be 'abstract' enough to lose the crowding.
