Let's post some photos of old, dilapidated, derelict buildings!

This is a photo from 2003 of an old, abandoned road house/bar in East Texas. Back in the 1960s while driving to my grandparents' house in Athens, Texas we would always go by this place on a lonely stretch of a small two-lane country highway. My father would usually stop for a break, maybe have a beer, while my mother and us kids would wait for 15 minutes out in the car. He would come out with grape, orange, or strawberry sodas for the kids and a coke for my mother. In 2003 I was driving up that way and this place brought back a lot of memories from almost 45 years ago. By the way, even back in the 1960s it was old.



This old house in the Florida panhandle has almost completely been overgrown by vegetation. Almost like some long lost Mayan temple in Guatamala or a ruin in Cambodia.



This is an old, derelict farm house in the country in Louisiana.

Great idea...I particularly like the second one. Looks like nature is going to get it all back.

I was cruising the back roads looking for mule deer and pronghorns when the door on this ruin cought my eye.

Winston, good one! I am always fascinated with old, abandoned, dilapidated buildings. They are all over the world and I know others must have some photos. Please post.

Here is one a bit closer to your neck of the woods. I think this was in Wyoming or Montana a few years ago.

This is in a village in Turkey, close to the ancient town of Ephesus:

bossel, yes that building seems to have just about had it.

David, when that one goes it will finally end up at the bottom of the harbor.

This is, what appears to be, an old store in northern Florida.

Traveling old Route 66 when I was a wee little lad, I would often see such buildings. Mom would always comment that "The only reason they stay up is that the termites are holding hands."

I don't see as many these days as we travel the Interstate, but there are a few on the backroads to my hunting grounds that I'll have to capture.

That's a good one! Where I grew up and where we use rather stonewalls than wood, we used to say it's all hold together just by the wallpaper

Well, it says Michigan Central Station on the caption...

but who builds vertical stations? Why all the floors?
