canary wharf in london early this morning

I see no canaries - or Canary (large barrels of very strong fortified wine!). In fact, it's hardly a wharf any more. Nice shot, emphsases that even in the heart of London, early morning can be very tranquil.

It's a good shot, but there's about 1 degree or so of inclination that's driving me crazy. Am I over sensitive?

I am a hypersensitive brat and you shouldn't have humored me, buy yes, it looks better. In fact, you might not have changed it at all but just the suggestion makes it look better. Either way, I can see the picture now without thinking about the inclination.

The strongly contrasting building on the left side makes it hard to notice the fine contrast and lighter details in the rest of the image. The yellow present in that building is echoed in the yellow pointy things (cranes? spires? antennas?) toward the center, but nowhere else in the frame. These combine to make the picture very left-side heavy...what about a crop? I think these elements might combine to make a pretty good composition on their own, and you might (if you go back) move around to get a better composition out of it.

they actually are yellow kevin, those are the stanchions for the millenium dome

Is this on the Thames? The color reminds me of a boat trip I took down the Thames ... must have been in the early 80s, I was using an X-700 which I still have. There was a factory with two big smokestacks that I always thought was the inspiration for Pink Floyd's, "Animals" album cover. Is it still there? Perhaps I'll look up that picture.

as david said mike, the most famous chimneys are battersea power station, but your right there are another 2 very similar around greenwich very near to where millenium dome is, i don,t know what they are, but i,m in london again in about 2 weeks i'll look it out and take some pics, it generally intrudes on my pics but i can,t find any, heres one of battersea power station i took about a week or so ago, it is derelict but there is some work going on to re develop it,
just googled pink floyd animals and it is battersea power station on the cover
