thanks Doc. the workmanship is amazing.

1800 stone carvers in India carved all the pieces and shiped them here. then spent 2 years here assembling it. it's all sandstone and marble..

Buidings like the Taj Mahal ( standard shot ) con people into believing that churches/ temples/ mosques etc are pretty easy to shoot. But as your photos reveal you need to put some hard work and effort into getting the results.

If it had been a Buddhist building and not Hindu then I would have thought that askew parking sign in shot 1 was deliberate !

HAH! I was so busy wihtthe detail shots I didn't shoot many whole building shots. maybe I should have picked one without the sign. there were signs all over the complex though they really want to keep people away fro the carvings., and I can see why they looked delicate

The craftmanship is so intricate and elaborate to create an incredible fabric of architectural art that one wishes to become a true workaholic in its grandure.

Thanks for sharing Javelin.

It is an amazing structure. Thanks for sharing these great Pics. It makes the modern Christian places of workship built in the UK look postively dowdy :D
