Actually tried to grab a plane in front of the moon but failed - more training needed.

But I got some nice pics with yakamoz

Actually, I was going to comment on your 'yakamoz' photos but I forgot and the thread missed my attention later on.

So, here it goes:

Yakamoz is always beautiful and these photos are no exceptions to the rule. I see a little noise in the blues of the first and I believe that more of the foreground as the landside could have been included because it feels like something is coming short groundwise. And, am I sensing a tiny bit motion blur due to any shake perhaps?

Is this taken in Bodrum or Izmir?

Well, more of the landside isn't that pittoresque anymore, I mean the buildings you'd start to see

Absolutely! This was taken hand hold, so I have plenty of pics with shake...Should get a tripod one day!

I think I like the first one a bit better. One thing you can do to avoid the blown out moon in a photo like this is to take two photos and have one them exposed well for the moon. Then you can take the moon out of that shot and put it in the other one.

Thomas, how about reducing the gap between the moon and the sea? (though some might call it cheeking)

Et voila! This is the PP edition. I replaced the moon with one from a shot of the same series where I had exposed for the moon and not the reflections. I moved it a bit down and cropped differently so that the ratio land/see increases. Hope ya like it!

The proportions are more pleasing to the eyes and with the texture of the Moon surface quite readable over a dreamy 'yakamoz', the photo has a surreal, extraterrastial 'calling'...

I like it.

Much much better, Thomas. I would go more for a lower moon (and a darker sky/brightness/exposure).

Well, since you started out by saying that you tried to capture a plane crossing the moon, why not paste one in too There are quite a few to choose from on the forum so rather than use a boring passenger jet, why not pinch one of those crackers from the airshow down under

Honestly, thes second pp version was just a joke ... since Doc kept saying lower, lower! Technically there's way too much shake in it and the transition of the moon into the sea leaves room for improvement. But the first pp vesion, I start to like it more than the original, actually.
