Invited to shoot a few clay pigeon shooters at the weekend:

Though I hate hunting, but these shots are great. To be honest I like the second and third, specially the second.

Snipers ok but the spotter's a little mixed up

Nice series. I like the second shot. Very well timed.

#2 is great Brian - brilliant timing. I can almost smell the cordite (or what ever makes the thing go bang!).

This is not hunting H, this is target shooting at circular plastic "clay pigeons or clays".

I would say only in a traditional sense. The under/over shotgun has long been the weapon of choice for clay target shooting. I don't think there are many countries that allow trap shooting of live birds for sport anymore, but i could be wrong.

It's an expensive hobby, but I do intend to take Shirley clay shooting soon. I've done it once, and hit the clays with both of the two shots allowed (not over and under - side by side, and a very expensive gun owned by the Duke of Devonshire's estate at Chatsworth - I was invited as a press guest when they launched hospitality and activity facilities). I was simply told to keep the aim so much ahead of the clay and follow through pan like a camera. It worked. I think the amount to keep ahead was about one hour on the clock.

We have a nice open air restaurant here named "Hunter" where you can shoot at clay pigeons and savor great meals. I don't shoot but I do eat (not clay pigeons, but some wonderful and unique barbecues)
