Hi, this is my second post so I thought I'd post a couple of images so you could see where I'm at with my pictures.

I think really I'm just a happy snapper who enjoys my images, I see most people seem to have a style, I just take pictures of things that interest me, working in Springer spaniel welfare I suppose I do lean towards pictures of dogs, and would like to do more portrait style images of them.

I took this one this afternoon while out walking the dogs, I boosted the blacks in Photoshop raw to get rid of some distracting blurred grass in the background and it a sharpened a touch.



And this image is one of my own springers, Heidi a working springer who's just had her seventh birthday, this is with flash.

Those are both fine shots - I especially like the picture of Heidi, the fill flash has worked a treat and it is a lovely composition.

Both are great shots, but somehow I prefer the first.

Those are both nice images, I think Heidi is my favorite. Everybody has to start somewhere, and starting with your other passions is a great place to start. Keep it up!

Both are good in their own way. Your dog makes for a nice subject and the photo is well-composed with good available light.

I like them both, and has been said already they are different types of shot.

I prefer the one of Heidi and the catchlight in her eye really sets it off, so great shot for me.

Great shot of Heidi! It looks like the camera was below her, is she on a hill? I think that really works as it results in a dog's eye perspective rather than the typical human's eye perspective and it allowed you to capture the dark blue sky well above the horizon . Another question if you don't mind. What is she looking at so intently? It looks as though she's ready to leap off the hill after something. My dog's tendency would be to look down at me which wouldn't be a good shot.

Thanks for posting this. I'm going to keep this in mind for when we go on vacation next month and hope to get some great shots of the Berners.
