i think it handled this pic quite well, nothing great but the alternative was to get nothing, any tips if i ever have to do it again handheld , would be appreciated

I would definitely crop the shot from the left to remove those 2 distracting faces: the man passing by and the huge square face/portrait one.

Framing is such a subjective thing. I would not crop it. I like the blurry, out of focus face and big face poster in the background.

I think the photo works; it works because the distortions resulting from the wide ends both on the left and right sides of the photo, mixed with the motion blur of the characters are ultimately compelling the eye movement to the centre of the image where the monument stands rectified properly with no signs of distortion.
Now that was a long description!

The only thing that sort of bothers me is the dominancy of the too-yellow lights or lighting. But that also may be true to the reality of the scene so I think I live with that!

never noticed or meant that, but now you mention it ,your right
