Three from my August holiday in Wales, the weather was mostly miserable but even on the longest gray day there was always some opportunity from a breaking cloud.

And two more..

great pics, bet that tree near the centre of pic #1 could tell a few tales, it seems to be saying "bring it on, i,ll still be here"

Indeed a wonderful set; very rich in content as subjects which are very active in shaping the mood of the photos. The first photo is a good composition of a green valley and would have made a great entry in the challenge. It's typically different and you selected a fine angle incorporating the motorway and the green flat land to the right. The second also has incredible colours due to the openings in the clouds as rays either shadow or light the terrain.

The third has a very sharp, inescapable extension of good curvelinear beach all the more dramatic with the green hill on the right: A good perspective.

Very nice Ewannawe - I love #1 and as Yildiz says it is screaming "green valley!". Since falling for the Hebrides I have neglected Wales a bit, probably unfairly. Your pictures have got me thinking about next year's holiday plans .

All very pleasant scenes, that no. 2 is outstanding I think, I keep wondering what's on either side of what I can see, might have made a good pan as well..maybe.

It was towards the end of quite a long day and we were driving back to base. I think we were all a bit tired and I was just cursing the flat grey day we'd had with near constant drizzle, when I glanced out the car window to the left, back up the valley, and saw the sun breaking through. I pulled straight over - saying 'Photo'. Both my wife and 5 yr old chorused 'No!', but I legged it out the car anyway. No time for bracketting or anything and I just reeled off 4 or 5 shots on auto, none of them come anywhere near doing justice to what I could see with my eyes.

Seriously considering discussing with the wife the prospect of a few days on my own for a photographers break but with a baby due end december I think my days may be numbered.

@Aster. Agreed re Green Valley, and I considered it, but went with the sunshine and blue sky one for my entry. If you look closely at the hill with the lump atop of it in the first one, then bring your eyes down to the second picture you should spot the same lump but mirrored, just off-centre to the left above the lake in the second one. We'd driven down out of that cloud and had come around in a big semi-circle from the viewpoint position in the first photograph. If I hadn't had wife and child on board I'd seriously have turned round and driven back up, that sun and clouds were going to do wonderful things for the next hour or so.

(edit: Found a slightly more wide-angle view that cropped top and bottom produced this...)

You have some good images there, we went to North Wales last August and had similar grey weather, but I still found it a very photogenic area.
