I didn't want to glom onto Kevin's thread, so I started a new one. This is the view from down the street from my house on the same night as his 'atmosphere' shots. I find it very cool that two people were taking photos of the same storm system at what was probably within 30 minutes of each other.. I tried to go abstract with #1. Let me know how I did.. C&C welcomed and appreciated. Thanks, John

That second shot, whew, what a show! I guess you were in the right place for it while I was still getting off work! What an amazing anvil.

Greg-I hadn't thought of that, but now that you say that.. it does look like the motherships entering the atmosphere.. Let us know if your TV signal starts going a little wonky!!!

No. 2 is great John - I think cloud photos are improved by having some gound in the shot as context - just IMHO of course
. I also thought of Independence Day when I saw the photo at first.
