Well, the USAF Thunderbirds came and put on a wonderful display...I wouldn't have missed it for quids..only one small downside tho, a dust storm rolled into town from way accross the other side of the couintry (gee thanks WA) about a week before the event, but by the actual day it had dissipated quite a good deal, still not up too our normal nice clear blue skies though.
I had too shoot between a gap in the trees, they mostly flew at about tree top height or less from where I was, I could have joined the multitude on the other side of the trees on the beach, but then I would have been shooting almost staight up-ish...I think, anyway for better or worse I persevered from where I was, had a few lucky ones and some duds....

The second shot from right under with the totem pattern is exciting to look at. It also is a good capture, fitting freely inside the frame.

That's a gorgeous shot of the C130 belly! It's a trip watching those things bank and flip all over the place.

Thanks Yildiz, Kevin, if you ever have the chance of seeing the Thunderbirds in action, don't miss it, they are well worth it.

ps. Yildiz O'l chum, this weekend was supposed to be a kite flying exhibition, (this being the dryish part of the year, and also the windiest...the breeze this time of the year never fails, always usually 15-20Kts, except when there is a kite flying demonstration on),
I watched these poor guys in about a 5kt breeze trying not to disappoint people who came down to the strand park too see all the pretty kites, the did get it off the ground eventually....

We have the thunders and we have the birds. The first is accompanied by rain while the latter comes with blood pressure and feathers but we just don't have the steel/ aluminum-clad ones flying overhead at the moment.

Got to send a petition to our air force to have them invite me over for the next air show that's scheduled...and a first row for 'person-of-priority' would work wonders for good measure..

Btw. I'll have to wait till it rains here (this is our dry part of the year), before I go into the rainforest, (for all I know it is probably has rained there, but not where I live, since the wet season that is)...anyway I've still got to get my I. J. hat, I. J. whip and I. J. pistol...ha ha.

The kite looks like a certain fish whose name I can't remember right now. That patch-work pattern and colours are great.

You have some exciting and witty gigs in Australia at the moment. A good contrast to the cool and unpredictable weather of autumn in the Northern hemisphere.

We'll be here when you eventually decide it's worth turning Indiana Jones... Baby steps...
