Great capture kingfisher. Having the bird in the center emphasizes how alone it is. The bird looks like it realizes that it came to the party well after it was over!

I see the 70-400 was not with you. Nice catch, Gustav.

Come on, Gustav, how about the rest of the set? You know that everyone here on this forum just love your pictures.
After all, we are a nice family here.

Thumbs up from me as well - the close up shots are excellent as always. The first shot is a bit different, but the amazing plumage really stands out. Thank you for sharing the pictures. How have your kingfishers done this year?

Probably been asked but is that branch a perch that you made? How far from the subject are you? I am guessing that you have calculated DOF and are waiting for the little guy to land. How long do you wait (on good days and bad)?.
Thanks for sharing your work. it is inspirational.

yes i place a nice branch , and i hope that he or she , land on it
before i go to the kingfishers , i look for i nice branch with mos or something
but because iàm sitting in a in a forest , it`s not sure , he sit on my branch , a lot of time`s he sit on a branch
a few meters left or right from me , but that is nature photography
sometime`s , he land on the branch after fifteen minuts , sometimes a hour , sometimes i sit a hole day , and he dont come ,
but i think , it cost me four hours average for one good shot , that is good for printing
because , sometimes , when i have a lot of kingfisher-picture`s , it`s happen that the light is not good , so i
delete all the picture`s
thanks for all the comments
regards
