I've been lucky so far in that a good go with a Rocket Blower or similar has sorted my A100 out. I have my fingers crossed that I don't get a really stubborn spec as I'm not sure I'm brave enough to start messing with "sensor" cleaning .

I did that "bravery" today with a rectal bulb syringe. Cheap and easy.
In case you wonder what is that? then here's a picture (from Wikipedia). It's mainly used for enema of the children.

Just wanted to give an advice to clean the... yes, of course, the sensor.

Well Doc, I hope you sterilized the device before using it on the camera.
Lonnie, great shots. They are equally beautiful but I especially like how the foreground is still in focus on #2. I sometimes miss that part on those long landscape shots.

One thing that found on a full frame camera, it has a full frame sensor. A BIG full frame sensor. As a result, there is way more room for dust to fall and settle. I have RARELY had a problem on my A200. Not so on the 900. I have rocket blower and use it constantly. It's much more of an issue a smaller apertures as well.

Doc, that brought a smile to my face and an old memory. When I was in Brazil in the early 80's, we had an new, (but old style) Maytag wringer washer. They were popular in the US from the 30's - 50's.

The new, safe models had a bulb you had to compress as a safety mechanism to get the ringer to go. Our machine's bulb had broken, and the ladies just learned to blow hard into the tube to get the ringer going. A new family arrived, he an engineer and she a nurse of slight frame. She couldn't do it no matter how hard he tried, so his engineering skills took over and he converted one of her enema bulbs to work.

After that we always said that to get the washing machine to work, you have to give it an enema!

My winter job finally ended weekend before last so I was able to get out and really shoot for the first time in a long time. Took a trip to antlope island state park and these were some of the results. This park overlooks the great salt lake....

1 Hello Golden Hour. I think I gave about a quart of blood shooting these. The no see-ems were AWFUL!!


2 "Purple hour". Yes, there is a dust spot on this one. I haven't done any post on it yet....


3 This one was about 9:00 pm. It was WAY darker than this.


I have a couple more less interesting ones at home I might upload tonight....

The last 2 are magical. For me, the 1st image has a dominant foreground that is overwhelming. Very close but not quite up to the result of the last 2.
