Brrrrr - chilly! I like the pose of the swan in #1, and its plummage - not so sure about the water in the background? I like winter tree shots and the contrast with the snow is great in #2 and #3. All of our snow melted by Boxing Day although we have had very little of the recent bad weather affecting some parts of the UK. The footpaths here had pretty much turned back to thick mud by today - I would prefer them frozen again I think .

I am by no means a bird expert but I think we get many birds migrating to the UK from more northern climes in the winter, as well as losing those migrating south. There are several types of geese who over winter in the UK after spending the spring/summer in the artic (Barnacle?). I also think there are some other species where the UK population fly south, but we get the same species from the Nordic countries over-wintering here. I always thought tha swans stuck around all year in the UK? I'm sure some of the birding types will put us right here.
