What a 'crown' of snow and ice on the summits!

Great scene David. We had very small amounts of snow in Istanbul the day before and it already is gone but we may be seeing more in the weekend. I just love snow and walking under a scattering of snow flakes while it's freshly coming down...

I hate for my 200th post to be a critique.
I suggest that you crop the bottom up to the out of focus objects. You could probably clone out the bird too as it is a bit fuzzy. These things take away the dramatic feel of the focal point in the image.
Question, would focusing on the "lean to" at shore line still allow for a crisp rendering of the mountain range / volcano? Wouldn't you be at infinity anyway. Just asking.

Thanks for your comments Yildiz, we do need more snow with the Olympics happening in a few weeks! We had an El Niño out in the Pacific which warmed thing up. Not good.

Thanks Greg, it's not always that clear, pollution from Vancouver often blows out that way.

Mt. Baker had a little activity in the late seventies Lonnie, as you know Mt. St. Helens a few mile south had a big one in 1980.

JB. Your 200th post was more than welcome. Critique with solid advice. I did take this one as well, which is closer to what you suggest. I appreciate your input.

Timing is everything. The clarity of the mountain range is better in the first pic (fog worked against you in the 2nd). The "lean to" ends up too far to the right. BTW what are those things? I think I captured one of my own. What do you think?

Thats a great shot JB. I can feel the wet, you really captured the atmosphere of the day. Has a bit of an alien look, like in a sci-fi movie!

JB. That is a tree trunk with its roots, the bird a piece of plastic.
