Cheetah - up close & personal!!

Unread post by Bluebear »

Had an amazing trip to Victoria Falls, Lesotho & South Africa recently - loads of photos naturally! Just about wore out my 5D (so much so it's now a second body to my new a700!) Got some good landscapes, but also some close up shots of cheetah - these were taken on foot about 4 metres from the animals! Thank goodness for image stabilisation!!

That's amazing. They almost look tame - they must be so used to humans they are not worried, and they must also be safe near humans. Rather changes the view that you need a 500mm lens and ISO 3200 to stand a chance of capturing real wildlife.

Hmm..on foot, it's probably a good thing you don't look like a Thomson's gazelle
great shots btw...that would have been some experience.
