By the way, is there a color cast on the second shot. The sand seems a bit more purplish.

Hi Paul - I like #1 the best - I like the "through the dunes" look. It was a beautiful day here on Sunday as well - not a cloud all day - but chilly. I wonder what the piers were / are for - not amusements or the theatre by the looks of it

I like the screen of dry vegetation and the perspective.

That is an interesting suggestion. It would provide a new perspective and framing.

Thanks for the comments guys, yes Doc there looks to be a colour cast in the second picture, but I quite like it, I will try some alternate framing on another night, although I wanted the view to be through the grasses.

Nice scenes Murph, there is a bit of variation in the pink sky content between shots but no great biggie as you can easily appreciate each shot individually on it's artistic merit.
One thing I noticed tho was when I had a look at the pan spread right accross my 24" screen (almost like being there), I saw something I hadn't noticed before, and that was the tideline on the right side of the straight pier was different to the tideline on the left side by quite a margin...does the tide come in or go out really fast there? or is it just that the shore does a bit of a bend under the pier?

ps. I always scan along a shoreline, it's a sot of fisherman's habit....it just looked like a bit of a mystery too my eye..

Well noticed, the difference is due to the fact that the pier is also a breakwater and has massive rocks underneath it so at lower tides there is a difference, at high tides the water passes over the rocks and the line of water is the same on both sides, as I'm used to seeing it, I just saw it as normal, but I can see how it does look strange.

Next time I'm down that way I'll take a pic from underneath and add it to this thread.

Glad you like the full size pano, sometimes you need to make wide views for the scene.
