Hi,

I really can't resist saying that I like the terracotta brick structure of the windmill and the way it can sustain some moss near the top. Must be good old, strong bricks.

I like both this and the previous windmill shots. I like Greg's idea of the B&W conversion - although the blue is stunning, a B&W version would perhaps focus the eye more on the interesting structure? It is interesting that the sky seemed very smooth in the previous shot, and quite grainy in this shot? (Also, time to give that sensor a couple of strong puffs with a blower I think .)

Not bad at all Dusty, now I'm thinking perhaps another photo of similar composition but exposed for the sky or even the white sails less a stop or so, that would increase the contrast between the windmill and the sky, the shadows on the mill would get a lot darker though and that could be a plus or a minus, hard to say in advance...
It's a great historical subject, probably built before the age of steam.

i like the effect you gave to my windmill especially the brick work, could not get the same effect with elements but i have never really got into to much post processing.
i always get disinterested if i cant get it straight from first go, although the seagull shot was on mu laptop for 12 motns before i even attempted to adjust it.
going to take DK's advice and for a more forward thinking club in southend.

i do like black and white.

Oops Mike, that was Dusty esq. who did the deed with the b&w conversion, and a good job he did as well. I was merely rabbiting on in my usual fashion.
