I liked the first one -the position of the lights (I'll write my comments on that post...)
This one is nice too. I find the lighting a little harsh: are you using any kind of umbrella, softbox or so? beautydishes are fashionable these days... I'll probably darker the background in order to bring more drama to the subject.

I agree with Pako on darkening the background. It'll have more impact.
Nice shot Mike (both of them). I like portraits a lot. Back in student days I photographed many students living in the same dormitory (soviet ones, you know, with small rooms like canned sardines...)

thanks for comments and constructive ones at that both from Pako and the good Dr, is that of medicine or science just curius to know.
by the way would you go for sony 16-105 or 18-250 sigma.

1- Medicine (but sometimes vet for "special" sort of people
)
2- haven't tried the sigma, and the Sony one is not bad specially for sunny days.
