ps. Glen, I notice that a shed on the end of a jetty is popular there, what is the purpose of those?

Greg, those buildings at the edge of the water are called stages, and for generations have been used for the processing and storage of the catch-of-the-day. Even today most of these stages are used by the local fishermen for this purpose.

However it feels you've been a bit heavy with sharpening in postprocessing (or is this straight from the lens?).

For my own part I never bother to pixel peep any image or look in the exif, I only look at the image composition, whether the content is interesting-rare-unique, and the exposure, and decide if it's something I like. I'm not even bothered by some slight noise, photos have always had some minor grain/noise of some sort somewhere, too me if an image is devoid of any noise it looks kind of fake.
So if I like an image (sometimes I'm not even sure why), I say so. At first I wasn't totally happy with the not complete boat on the left, but after a while I thought it wasn't really all that important and let it go, and gave it the compliment I thought it deserved.

It's a good series, and your compositions are brilliant--don't give the credit to the lens, though. I can see plenty of chromatic aberration in both pictures, but I must agree, it is miles better than the old 18-70.

Sharp sight you must have, Kevin. Where did you see those CA? I noticed none.

Glen, I got interested in those CA Kevin mentioned about. Would it be possible to post a 100% crop of the first shot, just on the edges of the house, please?

The image looks ok on my monitor, nice and clean...just looking at the image 'as is' of course.
